Eindhoven, Netherlands. The final night of Light Week, which used an old pedestrian tunnel beneath the canal as an exhibition space. Hendrik Folman, a city-contracted facilities safety inspector, was found dead in the tunnel after all visitors had left, slumped against the wall. Cause of death was determined to be status epilepticus—a seizure that, once begun, did not stop on its own and continued for over fifteen minutes. Twenty-four minutes before discovery, the tunnel's lights flickered at a speed never used during the festival. Five people left their names in the tunnel and control room that night, and there is no way to narrow down which hand produced the input that created that speed except by interrogating them one by one.
