Late one winter night during a heavy snowstorm, a fire broke out in the electrical room on the basement level of an aging downtown mixed-use commercial building due to overheated wiring. Moon Tae-woong, the night security guard and building fire safety captain, was found on the basement stairwell landing and died en route to the hospital; cause of death was airway thermal injury and asphyxiation from inhalation of combustion products. The building's fire safety equipment is monitored remotely 24/7 by an outsourced fire monitoring control center located 20 kilometers away, rather than by an on-site disaster control room. Five people were connected to that building and its monitoring system that night. Interrogate the five and find out why the burning building made no sound.

    Around ignition point, wiring insulation melted, and distribution panel cover open. On the last line of the duty log on the security office desk is written only 'basement check.'

  • 3rd floor tenant office access tag records

    There is one access tag that remained on the 3rd floor late that night. Exit tag was recorded after fire control was lifted at dawn.
