When an attack struck, he always carried nitroglycerin, an emergency vasodilator. The sublingual tablets he kept on his person were not among his belongings but in a drawer across the hall in the control room. The break room's emergency call terminal registered no outgoing signal that night, and the door would not open from inside. He had been digging into four outsourced operations—valet, late-night logistics, car wash, battery swap—and was universally resented, yet every finding he made was correct. He was the sole external check on labor safety across those four sites. That night's session was the final audit interview stipulated by contract. Interrogate the five people who remained in the control center at that hour and determine who led him to his death.
